Arjuna (Terminalia Arjuna) extracts have been widelyused in Ayurvedic medicine. The bark of the tree has been used for severalcenturies for treating cardiovascular ailments. It has a host of othertherapeutic benefits including treating asthma, hypertension and kidney stones.

Active constituents:

The bark containsphenolic constituents (arjunolic acid and terminic acid), glycosides (arjunetinand arjunosides I-IV), flavones, tannins, oligomeric proanthocyanidins andb-sitosterol.

Herb functions:

Cardio-protective: The extractof Arjuna bark exerts a positive inotropic and hypotensive effect, increasesthe coronary artery flow and protects the myocardium against ischemic damage.

Antioxidant: Arjunacontains several substances that have a very strong antioxidant benefit.

Indications:

Hypertriglyceridemia (high triglyceride levels in the blood)
